SHOALHAVEN City Councillor and mayoral candidate John Finkernagel is due to appear before the Local Government Department’s Pecuniary Interest and Disciplinary Tribunal today.
The tribunal is looking into allegations Cr Finkernagel breached the pecuniary interest guidelines by voting on the allocation of money to improve roads in the Verons Estate near Sussex Inlet, where he owned land at the time.
The allegations arose from a council meeting in November 2005, during which Cr Finkernagel took part in the discussion and vote on road funding.
However today’s appearance in Sydney will be only brief, as the case is listed just for mention to address some procedural matters.
