THERE was no surprise for the ALP’s South Coast State Electorate Council chairperson, Michelle Miran, in Morris Iemma’s dumping as NSW Premier.
And she said Mr Iemma and former NSW Treasurer Michael Costa sowed the seeds of their own downfalls earlier this year when they decided to push ahead with selling off the State’s electricity industry despite the wishes of the State Conference.
At conference Mr Iemma and Mr Costa “put themselves at odds with the members,” Ms Miran said.
“In the end, you have to wear the consequences of that,” she said.
And of the removal of Mr Costa and Mr Iemma from their roles, “I guess I’m more surprised at the way it happened, rather than the fact it happened,” Ms Miran said.
