CHAMPION Shoalhaven athlete Cristine Suffolk has continued her amazing run of success, this time winning five medals, including three gold at the Oceania Masters Games in Townsville.
Representing the Australian Masters team and competing in the 35-39 years age division, Suffolk streeted the field in the 5000 metres on the track and 8km cross-country to win gold in both.
In fact so dominant was she in the 5000m, that she won by more than 300 metres in a time of 20 minutes 01 seconds.
The 8km cross-country was another dominant performance, she completed the course in 33 minutes 45 seconds and was a whopping three minutes in front of her nearest rival. She also picked up gold medal in the cross-country teams’ event where the Australians were first, with the Cook Islands second.
Cristine also secured silver medals in her age divisions in the 800m (2.41.1) and 1500m (5.26.0) on the track.
