Supertrucks
THE fight for Supertruck supremacy keeps getting closer. John Falk entered the event with a 14-point advantage over Middleton and the pair were closely matched all weekend in the slippery wet conditions.
Each took a race win and were never out of the top four across the four races, with Middleton eventually narrowing the margin to 10 points with just the season finale at Mallala in November remaining.
Sports Sedans
SIX-TIME champion Tony Ricciardello was finally back on top in the Kerrick Sports Sedan National Series, scoring his first round win of the season.
Ricciardello took his Alfa Romeo to a pair of wins and a second place finish, while a mechanical problem forced Race Two victor and championship leader Darren Hossack out of the final race.
With one round remaining, at Sandown on November 29-30, Hossack retains a slender points advantage.
Australian Manufacturers Championship
JAKE Camilleri (Mazda 3 MPS) took out round two of the Australian Manufacturers Championship for Production Cars, after joining Bob Pearson (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) and George Miedecke (Hyundai Tiburon) as race winners.
Toyota displaced Hyundai at the top of the manufacturers’ standings, while Camilleri and Miedecke now share the lead of the drivers’ points.
In a successful day for the Miedecke family, George won Class D and his father Andrew topped Class A in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX - the pair was one of six sets of fathers and sons in action during the weekend.
