After starting his career in the Shoalhaven with Central Districts juniors and Rugby Union seniors, Maddinson crossed to South Coast club Warilla Sports in the South Coast association.
There he enjoyed success in junior ranks and last season was a century-maker in first grade.
He was a dominant player at the top of the order for Southern Zone under 17s, and after some swashbuckling knocks against City was the youngest member of the NSW team which was runner-up in the Australian Under 17 Championships held in Melbourne in January.
At those titles he performed best in the one-day matches with half-centuries in successive matches against Western Australia and Northern Territory.
At the end of the summer he was in the Cricket NSW High Performance squad that toured India.
This latest selection shows that he has impressed selectors at a national level, and the Southern Zone Cricket community will wish him well.
