COMPETITION two was held last weekend with 30 anglers wetting a line for the Bomaderry RSL Amateur Fishing Club.
It must have been standing room only at Target Beach with the amount of salmon weighed in for the beach and rock sections.
Beach fishos Irene and Barry Ehlers bagged out on salmon, as did Lance Harvey.
Jessie Reid landed a nice bream, but brother Tristan suffered a fall, but he was okay, no fish, but supervised by (pop) Robert Sutherland the boys will soon learn the ropes on the beach.
The rock hoppers did well with Roger Morley catching 12 fish and two species.
Jim McPherson presented seven fish and five species.
Robert Sutherland, Colin Mather, Nick Woods, Andrew Sutherland and Vicki Taylor all got among the salmon.
Estuary fishos were few with Marlene Smith landing a bream, Dot and Kevin Sharman and Kevin Jackson junior all fished for bream.
Dot one, Kevin two, Kevin (junior) nil, but he put in a good effort and has lots of patience, so it won’t be long before he’s reeling them in.
It’s great to see the youngsters having a go.
Deep sea was light on in numbers, Doug Payne landed a big groper, Bill Hunter three flathead, Ben Williams more flathead and Ron Smith made up for all the others with a bag full of fish to win the comp.
Overall winner Ron Smith, runner-up Robert Sutherland.
