AT JUST 16, rugby league rookie Lynden Booth has already represented NSW, Group 7 and Country NSW.
The prop is up for a new challenge this September as he takes on the size and power of the Fijians.
Booth who has been selected into the Academy NSW squad will travel to Fiji to compete in the Fiji National under 18s Tournament late next month.
“I’m expecting they will be massive guys and I will probably cop a bit of a belting,” he said.
“We get there a week before the competition so we have time to train together.
“Then we play our games in the last few days.”
Hailing from the Bomaderry Swamp Rats, Booth has been playing footy since he was nine years of age.
“I started with the Bomaderry Swamp Rats and now I play for the Shoalhaven Jets,” he said.
“I’ve played for NSW Country in under 16s, played rep for Group 7 and the Southern Stingrays.”
Despite his tender years, Booth has demonstrated the enthusiasm and skill to step up and face the strength and experience of first grade players.
“Playing at higher levels means I am up against better players,” he said.
“I prefer to play this level because it makes it easier for me to play better.”
Tasting success on many levels of his football career has developed a strong desire to continue to excel in league.
“I want to make this side again,” he said.
“My goal is to make SG Ball next year and then eventually play in the NRL.”
