Shoalhaven Senior Football – Second grade grand final

Shoalhaven United 2

Illaroo 1

in extra time

A GOAL by Chris Button with 20 seconds of extra time remaining has given Shoalhaven United the second grade title.

The Bears and Roos were locked 1-all after regulation time and the second session of 10 minutes of extra time was almost complete when Button scored the winner.

Earlier the game had started in sensational fashion for Illaroo when David Aulsebrook scored after just 29 seconds.

The Roos held that lead at half-time.

The Bears equalised in the 58th minute when Sam Brady was on the spot to put away a spilt ball after a set move off a free kick.

And despite both sides having chances the game ended 1-all at fulltime.

The game looked to be heading to the dreaded penalty shootout before Button scored the last minute winner.

Shoalhaven United 2 (Sam Brady, Chris Button) d Illaroo 1 (David Aulsebrook) in extra time.
