 Big questions go unanswered

Big questions go unanswered

29/08/2008 10:41:00 AM
I WAS present at the meet-the-candidates forum in Kangaroo Valley last Friday night.

Mayor Watson not only did not attend, but failed to give an apology and his party’s number one candidate for ward one likewise failed to attend or send apologies.

It was left to the number two candidate Gary Lees to field questions about the Mayor’s behaviour and the council’s operations.

The meeting’s questions on anti-Semitism; questionable selling of public assets; modifying Development Control Plans (DCPs); high unemployment (close to highest in State); large sums in political donations from developers – all remained unanswered.

It is no wonder the public is clamouring for change – even a little courtesy would have been nice.

K. Learn,

Kangaroo Valley.
