ON May 1, my wife suffered a severe fall in Berry Street near the Medicare office and was unable to move.
Several bystanders came to our assistance. One announced he was a first aider and assisted and comforted my wife. Another brought a cushion to place under her head and a third contacted the Ambulance Service.
My wife was carrying the monies from a rebate from Medicare in her hand and resulting from this fall the money was scattered along the footpath. A number of persons collected the money and handed it to me though at the time I was more concerned with the condition of my wife. A young lady was most helpful in the collecting of the money but it was not until much later in the day that I checked the money with the Medicare record and found that the total collected was the complete sum that was being carried by my wife.
It is with very sincere thanks that we express our appreciation to those people concerned. One gentleman even attended the emergency department at Shoalhaven Hospital later in the day to check on my wife’s condition.
