THE recent actions of the Mayor (‘Bid to gag paper’, SCR, September 3) are those of a bully and a tyrant. It seems he has stooped to the level of the late but not lamented Sir Joh Bjelke Peterson by trying to stop opposition and criticism at any price with threats of legal action and it appears to be a final act of desperation. If he directed this energy and level of persuasion into talks with State and Federal governments, we would have a new bridge over the river and many of the traffic problems would be solved.
